Super Kick Boxing
Super Kick Boxing: Championship Guide, Controls and Tips
Super Kick Boxing is a fast arcade fighting game that blends boxing punches with explosive kicks. You step into the ring as Nick Joe, a blue-haired fighter with something to prove, and battle a ladder of colorful rivals on the way to becoming champion. Each bout is a quick, readable duel built on timing: punch, kick, block, dodge, watch your stamina, and unleash a super kick when the moment is right.
You can play Super Kick Boxing online for free on this page, right in your browser. It supports keyboard controls on desktop and an on-screen pad on phones. This guide explains the championship structure, the full control layout, how stamina and supers work, what to do after a knockdown, and the counter-punching habits that win the hardest fights.
What Is Super Kick Boxing?
Super Kick Boxing takes the classic arcade boxing formula, where you face a series of increasingly tough opponents one at a time, and adds kicks to the mix. The result is a fighter with more options than a pure boxing game but the same easy-to-read rhythm. Fights are short, the characters are expressive, and the crowd behind the ropes reacts to every big hit.
The menu sets the goal clearly. Under the logo, the subtitle reads Nick Joe: The Final Challenge. A grid shows your fighter alongside a roster of hidden rivals marked with question marks, waiting to be revealed as you win. A panel at the bottom describes The Final Challenger, and the structure is spelled out as three circuits plus the Giant, with 12 rivals in total.
The Championship Structure
Press Start Championship to begin. Your first stop is the World Circuit. A versus screen shows the bout number, such as Bout 1 of 4, along with both fighters. In the first bout, Nick Joe faces Malik, a fighter in yellow gloves and shorts. Each opponent comes with a short scouting note. Malik's is Quick Hands, with advice to stay calm and learn the distance.
The menu explains how progression works: win four fights to unlock the Elite Circuit. Each circuit is a block of bouts, and clearing one opens the next, leading eventually to the Giant and the Final Challenger. A High Scores screen tracks your best runs, and How to Play gives a quick refresher on the controls.
Super Kick Boxing Controls
Desktop keyboard
- Left and Right arrows or A and D: move.
- Z: punch.
- X: kick.
- V: super kick.
- C or Up arrow: block.
- S or Down arrow: dodge.
- P or Esc: pause.
The on-screen labels also show alternate keys: J for punch, K for kick, and L for super.
Mobile
On touch screens, an on-screen pad appears under the ring. Arrow buttons move your fighter, A punches, B kicks, D fires the super kick, X blocks, and a large Dodge button sits beneath the arrows. A small pause button sits at the bottom center.
Reading the Fight Screen
The top of the screen holds all the information you need. Each fighter's name sits above a health bar. Beneath it are two more meters: a stamina bar and a super bar. The center shows the round timer and your score, and a line below names the current circuit and bout, such as World Circuit 1/4.
Stamina is the key resource. Punches and kicks draw on it, so throwing attacks nonstop leaves you drained and slow to respond. The super bar fills as you fight. When it is ready, the super kick becomes your most powerful move.
Getting Up After a Knockdown
If you are knocked down, the fight does not end immediately. A K.O. panel appears with the instruction to alternate left and right. Press the left and right controls in turn as quickly as you can to fill the recovery bar and get back on your feet before the count finishes. Above the fallen fighter, a large count ticks upward, so speed matters. Practise this rhythm early, because even good players get dropped by a well-timed super kick.
Timing: Block or Dodge, Then Strike
The game's own tip is the heart of its strategy: block or dodge an attack, then strike back within a short window of about a third of a second for a stronger counter. In other words, the best offense starts with defense. Let your opponent commit, deny the hit with a block or dodge, and immediately answer with a punch or kick.
This changes how you approach every bout. Instead of rushing forward, stay at a comfortable distance, watch for the opponent's wind-up, and react. Counters reward you more than raw aggression ever will.
Core Techniques
Punch to probe, kick to punish
Punches are quick and cheap. Use them to check range and interrupt an opponent who steps in. Kicks hit harder and reach farther, which makes them ideal right after a successful dodge.
Block versus dodge
Blocking absorbs the hit and keeps you in place. Dodging moves you out of the way. Both open the counter window. Block against fast combinations you cannot escape, and dodge against big, slow attacks that leave the attacker exposed.
Save the super kick
The super kick on V is your knockout tool. Throwing it at a ready opponent wastes the bar. Throw it as a counter, or when the opponent's health is low and they have just missed.
Manage stamina
If your stamina bar is low, back off and defend for a moment. A tired fighter is easy to punish. Short, deliberate exchanges keep your stamina healthy for the whole round.
Strategy for Each Circuit
1. World Circuit: learn the basics. Use the scouting notes. Against Malik, follow the Quick Hands advice: stay calm and learn the distance.
2. Elite Circuit: opponents punish button mashing. Lean on block-and-counter and conserve stamina.
3. The Giant and the Final Challenger: expect heavy hits. Dodge big swings, counter immediately, and hold your super kick for a guaranteed opening.
Common Mistakes
- Mashing punch and kick. You drain stamina and miss counter chances.
- Dodging too early. Wait until the opponent actually commits.
- Wasting the super. A blocked super kick throws away your biggest advantage.
- Panicking on the canvas. Alternate left and right steadily and quickly to get up.
